A LETTER TO WASHINGTON, FROM A PASSIONATE CITIZEN…….

Like most Families, we’ve been through a lot of struggles. In our 50’s now, we’ve buried most of our parents and our last child just left home to start her new life. We finally have a little time, to focus on our future. I must say rather than looking forward to the future, we’ve begun to fear it.

My husband and I are Republicans, but we don’t happen to believe all the issues facing us and America, are a Partisan issue. These issues affect all of us.

At 53 I’ve at no point have I ever felt as, ill- at-ease with America as I do in the hands of the Obama Administration. Abraham Lincoln stated “that a nation that divides against itself will not stand” I’m sorry to say, I believe we have arrived at that moment in time. I believe our American Government has divided us into special interest groups, rather than Governing over the people as “One Nation Under God”. I believe it’s all being done for the promise of a vote and support money. Sirs, we are Conservative Republicans. We believe in small Government, a Free Market Enterprise, The Declaration of Independence and The Constitution. With our In-alien-able rights from our Creator, the Lord our God, at the fore front. We believe in the rights of the unborn, that marriage is between a Man and a Woman and we believe in supporting our Military. My Dad and four of his brothers served in WWII each on different fronts at the same time. His tales of dragging the dead bodies of soldiers across Okinawa’s sands are bone chilling. We take the words of our founding documents seriously and at face value. We don’t believe these documents are to be twisted to try to serve special interest groups “interests” in exchange for their monetary support and votes, such as the gays.

When my husband and I were growing up, school and home mirrored each other. Now, days, with Bible reading and silent meditation and all forms of Religion stricken from school, in its place, we’ve moved in Metal Detectors and the Police. Jesus in the text books in schools, at my last reading of them, Jesus was depicted as a Persian?!? In turn, the only place for true guidance for children, is in the home. And as it is, a high percentage of children are being raised by pre-programmed politically correct daycare centers, so the next generation is going to be right in line with the thought patterns of today and that seems to be, to blame someone else for what ever is wrong and become a victim!. The Obama Administration has continually blamed Former President Bush for his former duties as President.Why, because with America’s attention focused on Bush’s supposed wrong doing, Obama can work quietly behind the scenes and remake HIS AMERICA. From all of his speeches, one gets the impression; America was a “trash heap” until he took office. Sir’s, we may not all have lavish college degrees, but in some instances common sense takes precedent

The Obama Administration openly opposes the so called torture, of Bush’s CIA Enhanced Interrogations on the terrorists, who killed 3000 Americans on 9/11, then turns around and supports and funds the killing of innocent babies through Abortion. I sir, was suppose to have been an abortion!_ Do you realize how maddening this is? ..How in the name of God, do you justify this? How does anyone justify allowing an Abortion Clinic in Philadelpiha Pa, to offer “free Abortions” for one day, in remembrance, of the slain Abortionist George Tiller?…. the meaning of a Human life is this Country anymore is disgusting and abortions are treated as if, one is having a tooth pulled. HONESTLY, THIS IS NOT THE AMERICA I GREW UP WITH, I refuse to go along with it. I’d like to know what’s happened to our Country, better yet, I’d like to know what in the Hell has happened to our supposed, intelligent American women, who obviously need birth control and pregnancy prevention counseling? Just because The Libs have Legalized Abortion, doesn’t make it right, search your souls.

As for President Obama, I’ve read countless articles since the Obama administration take over and that’s what it appears to be, a take over. We’ve read prior to his election and knew about his policies before he took office. We did not vote for Obama and aren’t interested in living in European Socialism. If we were, we’d move to Europe. We believe that America is on the brink of Socialism and it begins by leveling the playing field, which is being done as we speak..

Sirs, We all begin on the same plane. We are all born naked. What we do with our lives after that is up to us, to God and circumstance. We work hard for success and hope for the best. There are winners and losers, successes and failures. Some, of The Biggest failures lie in Washington and are those you’ve propped up and bailed out, in which have ended up going Bankrupt anyway, such as GM. How can you support those companies that are destined to fail? In a Free market society when a giant falls, another will fall in line, if left alone. It will re-adjust, perhaps not as quickly as you feel necessary. But you the Government has to intervene and “FIX” everything.

Now you want to “FIX” our health care system and add Nationalized Healthcare and Tax our current Healthcare to fund those who can’t afford it. But if I understand correctly, if you’re a Union worker, your healthcare won’t be taxed, again where is the incentive to want to go along with this brilliant idea?? You tell us your nationalized healthcare, won’t affect our current Medical coverage. But the reality of it is, if and when Healthcare becomes nationalized, private healthcare coverage will be forced to stoop to what ever level you deem appropriate in order to compete with costs and if they can’t compete, they’ll close their doors and we will be forced to choose National Healthcare, even if we don’t want it. I lived through an HMO nightmare with my mother back in the middle 90’s, WHEN YOU HAD TO HAVE PERMISSION FOR EVERYTHING! In part, She was dying and needed oxygen to come home with her. To make a long story short, her oxygen Levels needed to be 82% or below to require in home Oxygen and for the insurance company to pay for it. Rather than just write the order for her, the Doctor ordered my mothers oxygen to be taken off, they stopped her lasics (water pill) for the day and had two nurses drag her 70 pound body, across the hospital floor, in attempts to make her breathe hard enough to bring her oxygen level down 3 points! I walked in on the tale end of it and I found her lips blue and dripping with sweat, because she hadn’t walked in 6 months. This was all done to just to get the number 82% the insurance company and the doctor could live with. The writing is on the wall my friends with, 3^rd party Nationalized Healthcare. I’m not buying it! Now,__ tell me, why is that the Canadians come here to America for Healthcare, Why do third world Countries come here? I’ll tell you WHY, Because, we have the best healthcare in the world! No one said it was cheap or Free. Until the Government gets involved. You’re bound and determined to create another generation, who I’ll call, “a legion of leeches”. This is those people who you will manage to convince that they cannot do without Government intervention in their lives.

Another concern, at one point, President Obama said no one making less than $250,000 a year would be taxed. Sirs, honestly, we don’t make anything remotely close to that figure a year. But that figure alone and just above, probably covers a lot of small businesses owners in America, some larger ones who provide a few jobs. You can tax them highly for a while, but in reality, why would these business owners continue on a business venture, where you the Government, stands to make more money than they do? Where is the incentive, for the entrepreneur, or are you trying to ruin that too? What is the purpose of living and working here in America, if you the Government takes practically all we have? We don’t just live to and work to pay you, we need to eat, run our homes and take care of our families! There is already talk in the blogosphere and in the news, of business’s leaving the US and going to Canada, can you blame them? And what kind of monetary punishment or incentive to stay, will you set in motion for these people trying to protect what they’ve worked for.

On another note, when my husband and I’ve built our home it was 1976, a modest rancher on an acre plus in Pa. Our school tax alone then was a mere $750.00 a year. We have not put ANY additions on, were in the same house, but we now pay in 2009, $3900 a year, just in school tax alone! And no I’m not ready to down size yet, I enjoy working outdoors! Now__ I’ve recently read, Governor Rendell has also now proposed a 3 year 16% income tax hike to help balance the budget? Are you people serious? We already know the income tax Roosevelt imposed that was never suppose to stand forever, has stood now for, how long! That alone will force some of us out of our already modest homes that we worked for all of our lives for! You cannot squeeze blood, from a stone Washington, it cannot be done!

I’m no economic genius. Nor do I have a college degree. But I know, Economic down turns and adjustments happen all the time, most are not felt. This one is. Left alone it would rectify itself, tamper with it, like a cold, it will take longer and become more complicated. That’s just what you’ve done, tampered with it. People are living in fear here in America! That’s why they’ve stopped spending and are buying only necessity. If you want the people to open their wallets and spend, then there had better be money enough left in their wallets to buy something with!……We cannot lose our jobs or take a cut in pay, try to keep our homes and families going and also pay you the higher taxes you want, THIS CANNOT BE DONE! Where in the hell do you expect us to get more money from, in the middle of a recession? We don’t mind paying our share, but for God’s sake give us something we can work with. Now__ there’s talk on the news about the possibility of ANOTHER STIMULUS?? I haven’t seen ANYTHNG that the first did yet?!… Even if we get part time jobs, mostly everything is taken out in some form of tax and/or sets us in a higher tax bracket and it ends up not even worth taking the job…AGAIN WHERE’S THE INCENTIVE!.

SADLY, America is not about “WE THE PEOPLE ANYMORE”. It not about the great American dream, it’s about getting our elected officials to the next election and seeing who comes through with the most support money and what special interest group we can help next!

On a grander scale of concern, Now about H.R.2454,  CAP AND TRADE I previously contacted Jim Gerlach about this proposal; I received a message from him encouraging me to contact you my representatives in regards to this proposal. You are reading an edited portion of my letter to my Senators.

Now__ the government has already given the go ahead to lift the caps off our electric companies in 2011, which in turn will jack up our electric bills by anywhere from 30 to 50%. In HR2454, the Government, is proposing a bill, which is another tax, this time an energy tax, in which coupled with the electricity cap lifting, this will drive electric bills up, possibly doubling perhaps tripling them! You can’t possibly be serious! I think it’s about time we go back to tallow candles and coal oil lamps. And personally, while I’m at it, I’ve had about enough of this Global warming crap. I think it’s nothing more than another money making scam, there’s no real scientific proof. God made the earth, let him take care of it! Let’s get this economy in order before we start paying more of our money to cover costs of creating new energy technologies, that haven’t even been developed yet! Priorities first! I have no problem with clean energy, but if the rest of the world doesn’t comply with what we are doing here in America, with clean energy, the airspace we clean, will be re – polluted by those countries that aren’t complying and will end up being a waste of time and money, again we need to prioritize and stop this wasteful irresponsible spending. Trillions of dollars!!!, Washington and Lincoln are rolling over in their graves!

More about energy. In my opinion, we need to open up our shores for offshore drilling and stop this dependence on foreign energy or are we fighting with the Animal rights activists about it or the EPA? Personally, I’m installing a woodstove this summer, because the less, I’ve got to pay ridiculously high fuel oil prices the better, my thermostat will go down to at 55 so my pipes won’t freeze this winter. I will be walking to our store just across the street and I already only drive when it’s absolutely necessary. Obviously a lot of Americans have cut back hard, or why would the economy be hurting? It’s time Washington D.C. opens up its eyes and stop fighting amongst themselves.

We don’t live beyond our means, but it’s getting tougher and tougher to even try and live with in it! Our standard of living continues to spiral downward to keep pace, with the rising costs of living and all the while, the Government continues wanting us to shell out more?

Our cars we drive, both are from the early 90’s, yes, we keep adding band aids. Which also brings to mind, the real reason, I think the Car industry has plummeted, WHY?, because the secondary used car market is more affordable for Americans with Families than buying new, plus the foreign car market. Our average American people, CAN’T AFFORD ALL THAT YOU ARE IMPOSING on us. America is fast tracking its way to a two party system, not the one in politics, in life in general. If The Government continues sapping us with more taxes to pay out, with the jobless rates still soaring, you can FORGET THE MIDDLE CLASS PERIOD! There will only be Government rich left in America. Us the poor will be herded into cattle shoot like fashion, with no will left of our own, while you brain wash us into believing ”we don’t know how to manage our own lives” when you’re the guys causing a lot of the problem!!. I for one will die before I become one of your victims. This is just completely outrageous!

America , has come down to one thing, “pay to play”. What has happened to the America we Remember, The land of the free home of the brave? It’s turned into a wasteland of Government Run Business’s, banks and a car dealer ships. The American Government has become Tax addicts and a bunch of officials who glorify wrong doing, such as the acceptance of Gay Marriage for the sake of money and a vote. Rather than govern us as a whole People. Again I say, Abraham Lincoln’s message is clear “that a nation who divides against itself will not stand” You vilify the unborn and those of us who are, the simple believers of God and Country. We are referred to as “Extremists “ in a Homeland Security published a lexicon about us. You indicate we belong to hate groups, and may be a threat to domestic security. And, all of these lies you hide behind, in order not be accountable for the things we think you do is wrong! If you’re not going to listen to us, then I think it’s time you change jobs and let us elect some people in there who will listen to the will of the people and not just the college brats, the minorities or ones who’ll donate thousands of dollars to your cause! If all that’s not bad enough, if we disagree publicly on the net, about the Obama Administration and/or even admit we listen to fox news or Rush Limbaugh, you threaten to silence all of us, with a “Fairness Doctrine”! FREE SPEECH IS STILL ONE OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS! ……you stomp on us and then you have the nerve to ask us to pay out higher taxes? How long do you expect us to take this? ……On the next breath, You laugh at us, look down on us, when we form tax day tea parties, in peaceable protest. Would you rather us run violently rampant in the streets, such as in Iraq or Iran?

You treat us with contempt and then act as if you represent us? ….We know we can’t have everything our way, but we vote those in office who hold the closest to our own values and beliefs. To uphold our Constitutional rights, our Freedoms, you talk a good talk to get elected, but in the end it’s nothing but lies. Now, I’m sure that you will view me as some kind of a kook or a Looney toon, that’s fine, it’s your the choice, but either way I’m certainly no national or international threat, because I don’t agree with the current administration!. But I’m sure you’ll form your opinions in a way, where you won’t have to except any accountability for what’s taking place in Washington. As it seems, no one wants to be accountable for anything!….Yes, we are angry, and we’re tired.

In conclusion my words may never reach a lot of people to make a real difference. It’s ok. If only a one or two people read this and it causes them to re-think their position on the Obama Administration and America’s path, then it’s worth it. I’m not a paid political official, a journalist wanna-be, nor a professional in government. I’m not running for office and don’t ever plan to. But I am Passionate about my beliefs. I know I can get more done, passing the word with my big mouth, than I ever could working in politics! The bottom line is, I have nothing to win or lose. Except perhaps more money to the government. My hope and prayer is that someone, with some kind of common sense, somewhere, in Washington, can lead America back to her former Glory. Because I’ll tell you what, I’m sick, sad and ashamed at what I’ve seen America become, ALL in the name of money and power…..
