Whew!__been a while since I’ve been on here, We’ve been busy in the garden!_It brings back so many memories,  of caring for, and sharing the bounty of my Grandmothers acre plus garden. Aside from the large truck patch we called it, There we’re Raspberries and  Blackberry bushes, that we picked and cooked into Jams and Jellies, also two 90 foot rows, of  Grapevines . I can still hear my uncle, scolding us kids,  from the bathroom window about eating the peas, we were suppose to be picking!

In our own Garden this year, we planted tomatoes, leeks, lettuce, peppers, potatoes, onions, basil, marjoram and my usual bounty of homegrown flowers!__Why buy, when you can grow your own, sides, it’s fun!!_ In the northeast, it’s best not to plant until may 15, due to danger of frosts. If you do plant early, like we do,  it’s wise to keep plenty of covers handy, in case of frost warnings.

As summer approaches, water is still the best to drink by far. But with taxes going up on sodas and juices drinks, why bother with those. Get a large sauce pan fill with water, add tea bags and bring to boil, remove from heat and add, to taste store brand concentrated lemon juice, and sugar! I prefer Lemonade Tea. I also make Raspberry Iced Tea for my husband. Experiment with teas, there is countless flavor of teas on the market!_-You can even grown your own mint for mint teas__ To cut down on cost, buy sugar in store brand bulk.

I’ve been an artist/ designer all my life, so I’m used to building something out of nothing!__ I needed a few good sized boulders to add to my Grand kids,  gold fish pond, I built for them a few years ago.__and no way in hell, am I paying 50 to 100 dollars for boulders___ Look around your home, folks!_ ya Got some junk ya wanna get rid of?____Figure out where you want your boulder, as  it will be difficult if not impossible to move when finished__ toss in a pile, old broken plaster, cement and rocks too small for anything else, small old paint cans, but nothing toxic._  Get a basic shape of what your looking for in a large rock or a boulder. It will help to have a picture of what your looking for handy for reference._Then when the pile is the size you want, Cover the pile of junk, with chicken wire (which incidently  is now called POULTRY FENCE)___lol__ Make sure the wire is tight and completely surrounds the pile. Dig excess dirt, out around the bottom of your make shift boulder._Then Mix up a batch of cement, get a good pair of gloves and begin to pile on the cement over the chicken wire, and cover completely. You can either use your glove covered hands to apply the cement or use a trowel__when finished,  Let Cure__When dry, You can then add acid dyes and or color your cement prior to application. Follow manufacturers instructions for cement mixing and adding dyes and colorants__when completely finished,  throw the soil you removed back along the sides of your boulder to make it appear more natural. __add flowers or grass’s___again GET CREATIVE AND EXPERIMENT. I believe someone said in the Obama Administration, “Never Let A Good Crisis Go to Waste!”  let’s take it a step further in a positive direction__ After you’ve accepted the situation for what it is, be it long term or short, you first need to decide that NO WAY in hell your going to be overcome by a hardtime!___OUR PARENTS AND GRANDPARENTS LIVED THROUGH THE GREAT DEPRESSION, WE ARE NO LESS TOUGH THAN THEY WERE!___ Secondly  going through difficult times,  can be a time of  growth and creativity. Oddly enough Creativity alot of time,  is born out of necessity.__sO LETS GET AT IT!!!____ For example__I ran out of Mayonnaise a month ago, while preparing chicken salad. And rather than jumping in the car ‘n’ going to the store and paying $4_5  for a medium sized jar of Mayo, I hopped in my computer chair and let my fingers do the walking on the key board!  I did an online search, for a How- To make Mayonnaise recipe .  After two tries and  splattering the hell outta the dog , the cat, my husband and myself,  I now regularly make my own mayonnaise!. Stored it in an airtight container,  it keeps for up to a week in the refrigerator!__There are plenty of ways to save money and get the creative juices flowing in hard times.__You don’t nessasarily need a lot of money!___Look around your own house! __need place mats__check in your scrap material bin. For backing use old tea or bath towels cut to size. Cut some squares to desired length,  sew them together in a patchwork fashion, then use the towels, cut to size for backing___WALA!___Another example: If ya don’t want to pay $3 for a loaf of bread, then make your own!_It takes time, but well worth it, I’ve made my own Amish bread for more then twenty years!__to save further money, buy your flour in twenty five pound bags @ around $11___There is thousand of recipes for bread on line!__I also make my own pizza dough and freeze them for later use!___Make meatloaves for main dishes and then use the leftovers for lunch meat, makes a great sandwich with your homemade mayonnaise and homemade bread!___Buy or grow in season peppers, celery and onions chop them fine, freeze each in there own bag and only use what you need at a time!__Keeps for months!___I also grow my own chives, marjoram, basil  __Try your hand at Making your own quickie spaghetti sauces or pizza sauce. Buy store brand canned tomato sauce, which is usually no more than a $1 each__make to suit your own taste__to the tomato sauce, add salt and pepper, marjoram, oregano, basil, garlic, and a scant dash of cumin__let sit for two hours , heat sauce in microwave covered dish, just til hot, and serve over spaghetti!__add a little buttered garlic to your homemade bread, toast under the broiler or on the grill, add a salad, and you’ve got a great inexpensive meal!____Make your own egg noodles!___recipes on line__I dry mine in the kitchen, over a clean rope!____  try your hand at Homemade chicken pie_take two chicken breast, cubed and fried in a little olive oil and soy sauce til done.__to the chicken,  add, a can or two of cream of chicken soup, a can or so of mixed vegetables, salt and pepper to taste, mix, then set aside___breakout a favorite double pie pastry recipe, mix up a batch, divide in half, roll out on a floured surface__place one of the pastry halves in a glass baking dish, then pour in the chicken and vegetable mixture:  add the other pastry shell on top. Use a fork to poke vent holes in top, and finally brush the top of pastry with a beaten egg.___bake at 55 min 350 degree oven__please note baking times are for my oven, please experiment with yours.__

Next week I’m trying my hand at making my own mozzarella cheese!___

The price of electric and fuel is expected to rise in 2011, don’t wait start now. Make your own candles from tallow (fat) and parafin wax and add your own scent. I have my methods to do this and do  make my own, but I’d prefer you’d look on line for a reputable candle maker for correct directions .__Buy ahead oil for oil lamps, careful with these though, prolonged use on long evenings with husbands present, may cause romantic interludes __

I’ve been looking for a wood stove for the past two years, last fall a friend of ours removed one from his home, it’s fairly new and we were given the stove. __That was a god send!___we are putting it in this year. I’ve laid brick before when we built our patio years ago. I’ve already designed what I wanted for the surround. We contacted a certified builder, another friend, thankfully, who has agreed to help put the stove in  for half of what he charges.__We keep our thermostat at 60-62, on a regular basis anyway, but if we’re cold during the winter, we wear sweatsuits at night!____There is plenty you can do to save money in hard times, your going to have to make up you mind, to cut the credit cards up and say no to extravagant spending. When times are tough there’s no whining allowed, it’s time to get down to brass tacks, get a pencil and paper write down some ideas AND GET CREATIVE!____GOD BLESS you and AMERICA___

In regards to the Christmas Day failed bombing attempt of airliner 253_ Home Land Security’s Secretary Janet Napolitano, declared “The System Worked???,___REALLY??_ Nothing worked!!!___ The reason the plane failed to blow up, was because the suicide bomber screwed up, when fitting his underwear bomb__ and not because ANYONE STOPPED HIM FROM BOARDING THE PLANE!!!___One Democrat stated,” that it’s not fair for Republicans to throw around  negative rhetoric concerning Napolitano’s statement, that her statement ( the system worked) was not what she meant to say__ JUST LIKE SHE DIDN’T MEAN TO SAY THAT MOST CONSERVATIVES ARE  RIGHT WING EXTREMISTS EITHER, AND THEN PROCEEDS TO WRITE A LEXICON ABOUT US?___I’M TELLING YA, THE THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO Hmmmmm?????___AGAIN NO ACCOUNTIBILITY!!!

PELOSI SWERES AND DECLARES SHE’ GOT THE VOTES NEEDED TO PASS DEMOCRATIC UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE, ANOTHER TV NEWS REPORT STATES THAT THE DEMS MAY NEED REPUBLICAN VOTES TO PASS IT. WELL__ THE REPUBLICAN CHILD IN ME WOULD IMMEDIATELY RAISE MY HAND  TO THE FRONT OF MY FACE, PLACE MY THUMB AGAINST MY NOSE AND FRANTICALLY WAVE MY FINGERS. AS AN ADULT HOWEVER, I WOULD LET THEM SWEAT IT. THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHAT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE CAN DO, WHEN THEY STAY IN CONSTANT CONTACT THEIR REPRESENTATIVES. I’M A REPUBLICAN. AND I’VE CONTACTED ALL MY REPRESENTATIVES ON A REGULAR BASIS. WHICH IS SPECTER, CASEY AND GERLACH. TWO WHICH ARE DEMOCRATS. AND NOT SURPRISINGLY THE ONLY ONE WHO’S CONTACTED ME IN RETURN WAS A PHONE CALL FROM GERLACHS OFFICE. IT’S A SAD THING, WHEN OUR REPRESENTATIVES ONLY CONTACT THEIR OWN PARTY CONSTITUIENTS AND EVEN WORSE, IS WHEN THEY WON’T ADDRESS CONSTITUIENTS FEARS AND CONCERNS AND WHEN THEY DO CONTACT US, IT IS MERELY IN FORM LETTERS. OUR REPRESENTATIVES WERE ELECTED TO REPRESENT ALL OF THE PEOPLE IN THEIR AREA, NOT JUST THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN AGREEMENT WITH THEM. AGAIN, THE DEMOCRATS SEEM TO THINK, TO DIVIDE IS TO CONQUER. IN THEIR ” 2 FAST AND 2 FAR LEFT”, PLATEFORM, THEYRE GOING TO RUN THEMSELVES RIGHT OUTTA OFFICE, AGAIN. THE LAST TIME THE DEMS TRIED TO RAM THROUGH “HILARYCARE” THE DEMS LOST BOTH THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE, DURING THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION. ONE WOULD THINK YOU’D LEARN FROM PAST MISTAKES, BUT ALAS, SUCH IS HUMAN NATURE AND POLITICS. UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE HAS BEEN TRIED ACROSS THE BOARD. CANADA, ENGLAND AND NEITHER OF THEM WORK. RATIONING CARE, A WAITING LIST AND Bureaucrats DICTATING TO YOUR DOCTOR HOW AND WHAT CARE YOU GET. PEOPLE THAT DO NOT WISH TO BE INSURED SHOULD BE UP TO THEM. IF THEY HAVE A CATASHROPHE, THEY THEMSELVES,  MUST THEN PAY THE PIPER.

BEING THE TOTAL SKEPTIC THAT I AM, I FEEL, THE DEMS HEALTHCARE BILL IS ALSO ANOTHER WAY, OF TAPPING INTO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND FURTHER INVADE THEIR LIVES. IT’S BEEN SAID, GOVERNMENT WILL HAVE DIRECT ACCESS TO OUR BANK ACCOUNTS WITH THEIR PROPOSED HEALTHCARE PLAN. NOW, THEIR PLAN WILL HAVE TO INCLUDE AND BE A TOTAL COMPUTER DATABASED  INFASTRUCTURE, ACROSS THE UNITED STATES, TO HOUSE ALL OF THE INFORMATION OF EACH AMERICAN. IT IS MY CONCERN, THAT IF THIS INFASTRUCTURE IS INVADED BY HACKERS, ALL THE INFORMATION ON EVERY UNITED STATES CITIZEN WILL BE READILY AVAILABLE, FOR THE CLICKING. AND WE WILL BE FURTHER SUBJECTED TO THE VULNERABILITY OF IDENTITY THEFT. EVEN WORSE THAN NOW, BECAUSE ALL THE INFORMATION WILL BE CONTAINED IN ONE PLACE. AS IT STANDS NOW, IDENITY THIEVES HAVE TO AT LEAST WORK A LITTLE TO GET THE INFO AND SEARCH FOR IT. THIS IS WHY IT’S IMPERIATIVE, THAT ALL BASES NEED TO BE COVERED AND COVERED AGAIN IN ALL AREAS. AND NOT BE RAMMED THROUGH THE HOUSE OR THE SENATE. PERSONALLY, I BELIEVE ANY BILL CONTAINING MORE THAN 500 PAGES, SHOULD BE ON THE DESKS OF EACH CONGRESSMAN AND SENATOR AND GIVEN NO LESS THAN A WEEK TO REVIEW. I DON’T GIVE A DAMN HOW RIDICULOUS IT SOUNDS AND I BEIEVE IT SHOULD BE MADE MANDATORY. THIS SH*T OF RAMMING A BILL THROUGH THE HOUSE OR SENATE, WITHOUT ADEQUET TIME FOR REVIEW, IS NOTHING MORE THAN,” THE LESS PEOPLE SEE THE PROPOSALS, THE LESS THEY CAN OPPOSE IT”. WE MAY “ACT STUPIDLY” FROM TIME TO TIME, BUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE “NOT” DOWN RIGHT STUPID.

Memorial Day, SUNDAY: The day couldn’t have been more beautiful for our annual Memorial Day Celebration, this year was a first, a ” Pig Roast”. The Atmosphere was jovial, By 6 o’clock, close to, 90 people covered our back yard Patio, with more arriving., kids were happily playing, with my Granddaughter still trying to catch FAT FREDDIE, our resident Bullfrog in the fish pond, little red, white and blue footballs were flyin through the air, the Beer was flowin’, we had enough food for an army, the Pig was ready, roasted and being carved by my Husband, “Chef G” to perfection, Jello Shots galore, The equipment was set up and ready for a night of Karaoke fun and,… then…. my pregnant daughter, due that Tuesday, 2 days away, whispers, “Mom, I’m in Labor”……Well, Instead of my MC voice, I moved into Gestapo mode, politely barking orders to friends, Amid my usual rant ” Where in the Hell, is my Frickin’ car keys?” and to a few close friends to” Hold down the fort, that I’ll be back, were going to go have a baby!” Her Contractions were comin’ fast and heavy and I knew it wouldn’t be long, My Daughters husband nervously got the car, while My Daughter breathed through another contraction…. At 6:30 we arrived at the Hospital, and mere half and hour later, at 7:01, in delivery, we welcomed our healthy 7 pound, 6oz, Grandson “Alexander” to the World. Mother and son are doin’ fine! I stayed long enough to hold our little Holiday gift, kiss my daughter and her husband, and made my way back through the Hospital to the car, all the while, still trying to find “my frickin’ Car Keys?”  I made  a valiant effort not cry while driving, but it didn’t work and thanked Jesus for the warm, wonderful day and for Guiding both my Daughter & her New little Son safely through Labor and Delivery.

As I drove up our driveway, and walked up the Backyard” Cheers” rang out, as tears streamed down my face,  I finally found Grandpa in the maze of family and friends as we cried & gave thanks together.

Life is Good, Thanks be to God!

What a Wonderful Day!

Water Boarding Justifications, putting it all in perspective. Sometimes in Life you do things you don’t want to do, but have to….

(This Is a True Story, I lived it)…..It was 2002, 2 years had already passed since our Daughter chose Heroin over life and still lived at home. 3 weeks had passed since she was at school last and it wasn’t getting any better. I tried for an hour to roust her, but her now size 0 frame  just moaned and rolled over. I couldn’t sleep for fear she’d die in her sleep, I’d checked her off and on most all the time to see of she was still breathing…… nothing i said or did worked. I went through all it, the deniel, the fear, the anger, guilt, “did I do this”…now I was just numb. And her father loved her too, but just couldn’t deal with the fact, his baby was on drugs,…. I was alone. Pieces of our life disappeared one by one, as she stole and sold from us. If I got to the the local cash and carry pawn shop, before it closed, I could buy some of my house hold things back. A lot I never saw again, including my grandmothers pearls……  Now I can see the look on your faces and your wondering how does any one let this happen……I’ll tell you….

While doing wash one day I came across a note in my daughter’s pocket, I opened it and Read, That she and her also Heroin addicted boyfriend had planned on going to Philadelphia Pa to get their drugs, but what made it different, they were going to move down there for convienience.They had planned to live in the car until they found a place to live….. Fear shot through me, and I knew deep in my heart, if I’d let her go, I never see her again. I had a choice, I could either, let her go with him or offer to move the boy friend in until I could figure how to help her. One drug in addict in my home was bad enough, but two was unthinkable,…. but I did it anyway.

One and a half years passed 4  in home detoxes an several arrests later, twice our cars were stolen, breakins…. til her boyfriend had finally gone to rehab. With him gone, there was a light at the end of a tunnel, I knew I at least had a chance to get to her. One thing I hadn’t mentioned my Dad was dying and to protect him, I kept him at his home rather than move him in with me. This perticular night. Dad was pretty bad, I finished making his dinner and wrapped it up to keep warm. Grabbed my purse and looked for the keys. Not finding them, I finally deciding I left the keys in his car. I went down stairs and to my surprise dads car was gone, Immediately I knew, I knew, my daughter stole it. I hollered up the stairs to my husband to check our daughters room, for her, and said that dads car was gone, Sadly, he said,  so was she.

She caught me on a bad day, that day. I’d had enough. I called the local police and had an APB put out on her, and gave  a description of her & the car. Later, she arrived before the police found her. As we argued in the drive way, the police drove up. They asked me asked what I wanted to do. I got no response/help from my husband, after 15 minutes of  me soul searching, I finally told the police to take her, I knew having her jailed was a last resort I had left of trying to save her……I don’t think I had ever done anything any harder, that to tell the police to take my daughter, watch them take her and hearing her scream,  Mom, Don’t let them Take me”….soon after my Dad died….

…..She’s now clean for 61/2 years. A beautiful girl & a proud mother of a beautiful little Girl and about to have a second child with her new husband.

My Father in law recently passed away hating me for moving my daughters then boyfriend in with us. He never understood, that what I had done may have helped save her life. It’s ok, I know it was the right thing for me. I look at her now and don’t regret anything I’ve done,  I was forced to take the lesser of two evils…..

My point is Friends, that sometimes your posed with life threatening situations. In order to save lives, you do things you don’t want to do, but do them, because you have to…think about it, the next time you view a picture of 9/11 twin towers on fire and the people who died & then ask yourselves if water boarding  Gitmo terrorists for information,  may or may have not stopped another attack on America…… You may have watched it on TV or videos, but if you’ve never been in that kind of a situation, you wouldn’t know, would you?

Well, either some of the Democrats have finally grown a set or it’s all Just a Show to pacify and or shut up, those of us outraged by The Obama Administrations Irresponsible handling of the closing of Gitmo, and what to do with the Prisoners once it closes. All European Countries but one, have refused, when asked by the Obama admin. to house some of the prisoners. France agreed to take one.

If your voting on appearances, I’d give it a 10, that the  Obama Admministration looks as if they’re in over they’re heads as per Guantanamo Bay. I find it absolutely absurd and hard to believe, no one in his Admin has stepped up to the plate before this and even attempted to put a stop to this madness, for even suggesting they release these terrorists among us, the citizens in America.

I’ve decided to add an earlier original post entitled “A Conservative”. I’ve read over and over again the good intentions of well meaning Republicans, Medeocre Opinion of Moderate Republicans and those who would like to think themselves Liberal Republicans, but should be registered Democrats. In the Matter of what The Republican Party, the Conservatives should do and be.

We don’t need to remake the Republican Party. There is nothing wrong with the Republican Party itself,  with the exception that there is too many variances within it. Such as political (modern) Ideology, There is Conservatism, defined in contemporary American politics, it is often associated with the Republican Party. Core conservative principles include a belief in God and Country and many U.S. conservatives support a Fiscal Policy rooted in Small Government, laissez faire capitalism, and supply-side economics. In foreign policy, American conservatives usually advocate some moderate aspects of “American exceptionalism”, a belief that the U.S. is unique among nations and that its standing and actions do and should guide the course of world history.

Then we have,  Social conservatism.  A political or moral ideology that believes the government has a role in encouraging traditional values and behaviors based on the belief that these are what keep people civilized and decent.

There is also, Neoconservatism. is a political philosophy that emerged in the United States of America, and which supports using American power, including military force, to bring democracy and human rights to other countries. Unlike traditional conservatives, neoconservatives are generally comfortable with a minimally-bureaucratic welfare state; and, while generally supportive of free markets, they are willing to interfere for overriding social purposes.

Fiscal conservatism is a political phrase term used in North America to describe a fiscal policy that advocates a reduction in overall government spending. Fiscal conservatives often consider deficit and national debt reduction as well as balancing the federal budget of paramount importance. Free trade, deregulation of the economy, lower taxes, and other economically conservative or neoliberal policies are also often affiliated with fiscal conservatism

Republicans emphasize the role of free market decision making in fostering economic prosperity. They favor laissez-faire free markets, economic liberty, fiscal conservatism, personal responsibility, accountability and policies supporting business.

Opinion:  God, Country, Personal Freedom, accountability and Liberty and Justice for all is the Conservative Founding. The Republican Party has Divided into too many groups of such, as formerly suggested above. We do not need to remake the Republican Party. We need to come together & return to our roots. Our stance was always the party of heavy discussion first. Heated debate on issues, all areas covered, before moving ahead. America and it’s people have always been first and foremost with the Republicans, not Political Careers. Choosing to move to PRO-CHOICE may buy more votes, but ask yourselves this, is a vote worth the price of a dead child. A child, God obviously wanted to be here, but a man made a law and said a child could be murdered at will. Consider this, Life, Heartbeat, No heartbea Dead! Is a vote worth, granting permission of Gays to Marry, smearing the Good name of God, when he explicitly declared homosexuality wrong in his eyes.This is only a small portion of Republican/Conservative belief

We need to return to our roots!

We can not coerse our views and beliefs on people, nor can we convince them. All we can do is express our beliefs, explain the best way we know how, the why’s and the where-fores of the Republican Party. Take all of the above sects and hope the people will listen and Pray for God’s Grace upon it. Becoming more like the liberals is not the answer. I’ve never been party to a more controlling White House Administration than the Obama Admin.

Well now, along with being called “Right Wing Extremist’s” with fingers pointing directly at, the American People and naming Christians, those of us who oppose abortions, Conservatives, those of us who oppose the Obama Administration. Now were Cyberbully’s. Could we call the DHS Lexicon,  slanderous and a crime, could we prosecute?

We are apparently being somewhat compared to and intertwined with “The Megan Meier Cyberbullying Act”  in lieu of an incident that took place in 96, which a woman harrassed & provoked a teenage girl on a social networking site, whom if which eventually became so distraught, committed suicide. It’s very Sad and unfortunate, but at 52, I’ve met my share of bully’s in life, none of which ever drove me to the brink of suicide, simply because I never left them.

I would be careful with this Washington, your tampering with yet another can of worms, one of which you will be forced to taste as well. Like ‘FREEDOM OF SPEECH!  Opposition of said Administration, is not harassment, it’s an opinion. We are a two party Government. Not unless Totalitarians took over recently. If it’s cyberbullying to disagree with The Current Administration, then each and everyone of you candidate( repubs and Democrats alike) that campaign for Government office, could be guilty of slander, of your Opponents, (could you win an office without calling your opponent names or stop delving into their personal lives to dig up dirt on them, defame them, in efforts to win and election?)

Whatever you impose on the people, you yourselves as lawmakers must abide by as well, or are there a different set of rules for Government, that We The People Are Unaware of?

Liberals you’ve already won the Presidential seat, The house and The Senate, My question to you is, What exactly is your problem? Your angry, that Conservatives have a voice? That we have Opinions that oppose yours? That we happen to take advantage of the internet to voice our opinion? Do you think if you stop us using the net to voice our opinions, you will stop the dissent or just slow our course? What next, the Mail, our cellphone, Conservative TV, Radio?.. NOT A CHANCE! It’s not going to work.  Example, The Holy Bible has been chastised, burned & rendered illegal and death resulted at one point in time to even have a Bible in ones possession, even after and all of that,  it DID NOT stop the people from believing it’s words or possessing it. Such as it will be, with the American People and Our Constitution. Your thoughts may opening a can of worms, that in fact may come back to haunt you. And you the lawmakers will be also poised to abide by, unless you can find enough American people who can’t comprehend, your efforts in “rewording” changing,  the Constitution to suit your own agenda.

All Americans have FREEDOM OF SPEECH  to protect us.
