OK,__Here’s the Deal__ The Government gives you $4500 for your supposed trash heap, gas guzzler of a car. But then the Government keeps changing, the qualifications for your “Clunker”. You put that $4500 towards buying a new more energy efficient vehilcle, ..That Sounds Real Good…..Now, the question is, where’s the “New” money?__ The Consumer money!…..aside from the $4500, the rest is monthly payments, and on paper, and not immediate cash…. Government loans for car purchase is not “new” money. How is this boosting the economy? The only thing this is boosting is the car market , which the government owns a portion of!?!. The benefits Trickle down into the auto arena only. Such as the auto makers, mechanics, parts, insurance, gas….yadda, yadda…. If the Government would give the people $4500 per family, to spend as they wish, rather than just use it in the car market, this would provide a broader range of spending and further benefit ot boost the economy as a whole, rather than just a portion of it. In essence while the Government “looks as if “ they’re giving consumers money towards a new car, the money goes back into Government pockets and the rest of the “new” money from consumers such as monthly payments goes into ONLY the auto arena as well. Unfortunately the economy is not based solely on the Auto Makers. Another FIXATIVE for a Big Government Money Making Agenda…Hmmm?
